We have clients who use the below quite successfully - this works for Value/$ Amount Vouchers and Pre-packaged Vouchers.


1. Set up a new room type in Room Manager for Gift Vouchers (this does not need to be mapped to any channels nor seen on the website gadget. Go to Setup (top toolbar) --> Rooms and Rates --> Add new room (or copy one already there - however, this is technically an 'empty' room - ie only setup for system purposes).


Room setup Click here - Rate set up can be 1 min night and $0 rates (remember this rate/room type should not be mapped or advertised anywhere). 


2. Once set up - check Online Distribution (eventually this room type and rate plan will go over to the Resonline side but it should never be mapped to anything --> Your Website to ensure this Room Type is not linked to the gadget by unticking the box. Click here for an example screen.


3. Go back to Room Manager. The voucher has been now set up. Please follow the below steps.


For a Credit Voucher


Guest (the Purchaser) calls to request a $200 voucher for someone else (the Redeemer)


1. Make a booking for the expiry date of the booking into a Voucher room type

2. Fill in details of the Purchaser in notes and details of the Redeemer (if known) into the Guest Details

If Redeemer Details are not known leave as Gift Voucher

3. Add payment to booking - save payments and changes

4. Give Booking number to Purchaser as voucher reference


When Redeemer calls to make a booking:


1. Locate booking via booking number

2. Move booking from Voucher room type to physical room required

3. Enter Redeemer details into Guest details

4. Save changes


For a Room or particular package voucher


1. Make a booking for the expiry date of the booking into the required room type

2. Fill in details of the Purchaser in notes and details of the Redeemer (if known) into the Guest Details

If Redeemer Details are not known leave as Gift Voucher

3. Add payment to booking - save payments and changes

4. Give Booking number to Purchaser as voucher reference


When the redeemer calls to make a booking.

1. Find the voucher booking by Booking number

2. Change dates to suit redeemer

3. Enter Redeemer details into Guest details

4. Save changes


If Redeemer never books - by the time the expiry date rolls around - you can then check the voucher in as unused.
