Providing transparent and realistic Booking Fees allows you to recoup fees which are charged by third party providers, including merchant and handling fees.  The fees appear on all guest itineraries, but are not visible to operators.


The below guide provides you with the information on how to understand setting up booking fees. There are 6 types of Booking fees that can be created for Accommodation, Tours, Events, Car Hire, Packages and Custom Fees For Online Only.


To setup booking fees follow the below steps


Accommodation Booking Fees

  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to https://www.bookeasy.com.au/console/product_search.asp
  • Click add product
  • The code section needs to be set as either bookingfee for a fixed dollar amount or bookingfee% for a percentage amount
  • Description is what the customer will see, this can be called whatever you wish.
  • Retail price is the amount of the booking fee EG 3 for $3 or if using the percentage 1.5 for a booking fee 1.5% of the booking cost
  • Tick to enable for websales (active online) and internal sales for internal bookings to have a fee by default.
  • Click save

Tour Booking Fees
  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to https://www.bookeasy.com.au/console/product_search.asp
  • Click add product
  • The code section needs to be set as either bookingfeetour for a fixed dollar amount or bookingfeetour% for a percentage amount
  • Description is what the customer will see
  • Retail price is the amount of the booking fee EG 3 for $3 or if using the percentage 1.5 for a booking fee 1.5% of the booking cost
  • Tick to enable for websales (active online) and internal sales for internal bookings to have a fee by default.
  • Click save

Event Booking Fees
  • Login to Bookeasy

  • Click add product

Package Booking Fees
  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to https://www.bookeasy.com.au/console/product_search.asp
  • Click add product
  • The code section needs to be set as either bookingfeepackages for a fixed dollar amount or bookingfeepackages% for a percentage amount
  • Description is what the customer will see
  • Retail price is the amount of the booking fee EG 3 for $3 or if using the percentage 1.5 for a booking fee 1.5% of the booking cost
  • Tick to enable for websales (active online) and internal sales for internal bookings to have a fee by default.
  • Click save

Car Hire Booking Fees
  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to https://www.bookeasy.com.au/console/product_search.asp
  • Click add product
  • The code section needs to be set as either bookingfeecar for a fixed dollar amount or bookingfeecar% for a percentage amount
  • Description is what the customer will see
  • Retail price is the amount of the booking fee EG 3 for $3 or if using the percentage 1.5 for a booking fee 1.5% of the booking cost
  • Tick to enable for websales (active online) and internal sales for internal bookings to have a fee by default.


Add Other Booking Fees
  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to https://www.bookeasy.com.au/console/product_search.asp
  • Click add product
  • The code section needs to be set as either bookingfeeother for a fixed dollar amount or bookingfeeother% for a percentage amount
  • Description is what the customer will see
  • Retail price is the amount of the booking fee EG 3 for $3 or if using the percentage 1.5 for a booking fee 1.5% of the booking cost
  • Tick to enable for websales (active online) and internal sales for internal bookings to have a fee by default.
  • Click save


Custom Tour Fees

  • Login to Bookeasy
  • Go to operator search
  • Search an operator
  • Click update other details
  • Go to the custom booking fees tab
  • Enter the fee amount, whether it is a percentage and per booking or per pax.
  • Set this fee per product
  • Fee Description is what the customer will see
  • Click save
*note* - These custom fees ONLY apply online when booking through the beGadgets and will not show internally or legacy Bookeasy websites.
